In the print studio

Scrrenprinting at home and sample orgnisation 006

Well, actually on the only large table in our house.  Testing out printscreening technique with a Thermofax screen, bought at Festival of quilts.  Overprinting some dyed and shibori pieces of fabric with print pastes borrowed from Morley.

A new technique at Morley this week, painting with Procion P dyes directly on to the screen, then the screen image transferred to the cloth by puling over with Manutex.  Beautiful painterly effects, but the camera is confused about the appropriate focal distance.  Below is this technique overprinted on some indigo dyed, tape-resist shibori muslin.Scrrenprinting at home and sample orgnisation 007  The same technique, this time with thickened dye to minimise the spread of the dye, printed on to wax batik dyed muslin.

With samples mounting, I have also now arranged them in to a sample folder – quietly soothing, even to someone who finds organisation not where they are naturally inclined.
