Poppies - promise, petals and pods

The rain has decimated the petals on  many of my garden poppies, but has encouraged the bursting buds and left behind beautiful pods.

    Love those! Poppy heads like those always remind me of my early childhood garden. I was endlessly fascinating with their shapes and volumes. I'm now craving my own poppy patch again!
